Automatic File Manager
A file management feature is built into
the standard application.
Automatic File Manager is a complementary
product shipped with every copy of On-Time Operator for no additional
charge.
Special situation ‘add on’ features listed below can be
ordered separately. Each ‘add on’ feature is distributed as a single
executable file (a DLL) which can be downloaded directly into the folder
where the On-Time Operator resides, and the new feature will
automatically show up in the main line application - no special
installation is required. As and when customers request new special
situation features, Isuru will add them to the list of ‘add ons’.
If an object is received in a designated computer folder,
the DropBox feature will instantly trigger a new activity of your
choice. You will tell the facility the name of the folder, the
characters to look for in the label of the file that will arrive, the
process you want to run, and what you want to do with the file that
arrived after executing the process. The DropBox feature will comply
automatically when a file with the qualifying name criteria is dropped
in the designated folder. It will carry out the process you stipulated
and delete the received file or move it to the bin where you want it
redirected.
This is a utility to equalize data in files and folders
within the same computer or between computers in a network. It can be
set up to do the automatic synchronization periodically, or whenever one
computer is detached and reattached, to maintain perfect copies of data
in the two computers.
Tell On-Time Operator the address of
the ISP you want to hook up with and the phone number to dial. Next,
schedule the time you want the ISP dialed automatically and for how long
you want to keep the line alive. On-Time Operator will comply when the
correct time is reached, every day. Once a connection is established you
can schedule a host of other Events like collecting/sending mail,
uploading/downloading files, all automatically.
Uses a secondary method (Email) to verify that a file
sent is actually received at the destination. You can specify how often
(say, every 10 minutes) and for how long (say, for 5 hours or forever) to keep
matching the name of the file received with the Email notification of
the file name sent separately. Isuru software collects and interrogates
the Email notification at the destination automatically, without any
user involvement. Optionally, depending on a match or a non-match, a
fresh Email can be generated to send a message to a third party or
request a resend from the originator of the file.
You can schedule Events to run day or
night to send or receive files from partner computers anywhere
accessible via an IP address. The partner computer can be running any
operating system that supports FTP: UNIX, IBM Mainframe or AS/400, PC,
Mac, etc. Does your partner computer have an FTP Server? If not, but if
your partner computer is a PC running Windows, the FTP facility of
On-Time Operator has a module you can install in the partner computer to
act as an FTP Server.
FTP Server enables your PC running under
Windows to start the FTP Server end program to prepare and wait for FTP
Clients to send their files to you or to extract your files for their
use. You can start this FTP Server facility at boot time, at a stated
time or periodically and specify the length of time you want it to stay
alive.
This feature is designed to cover certain shortcomings of
FTP -- security and use of DOS convention file names. With the Isuru File Transfer, port numbers at the receiver's end can be changed
to enable multiple session connections to numerous clients to enable
parallel data transfers. A signature encryption method is observed to
exclude unrecognized objects received at the destination. A data
compaction/decompaction is performed transparently, which significantly
reduces the size of files in transit, thus, yielding better transfer
speeds. You can select groups of files to send. Wild card characters are
permitted in the file name.
Do you want to keep a communication line
alive? The Line Alive feature of On-Time Operator is the answer. Tell it
the IP address that you want to ping and at what intervals you want
pinging to occur. On-Time Operator will comply and keep the line alive.
Are you in a local area network (LAN) and need to drag
and drop files among nodes, totally unattended? The answer is On-Time
Operator’s network file transfer facility. An intuitive graphical user
interface will guide you to make your selections. As long as you can see
a node in your network directory and you have sharing rights to drag and
drop a file or a folder into it, you can have the On-Time Operator
perform the same operation on schedule, automatically.
This utility is designed to suppress annoying pop ups
that appear on your Internet browser. It can be set to be operational
only during certain time periods during the day or forever.
